Rustic Millwork Three Ways
Our most popular image on Houzz.com has been saved thousands of times. Backcountry home owners in Highlands Ranch, Colorado wanted to include a touch of the reclaimed timbers feel we installed on their main level, to the basement entertainment area. As a result, the rustic wide plank flooring on the bar wall warms up the concrete floors. The reclaimed hardwood makes the space feel more consistent with the transitional décor found in the rest of their home. Using the same installation procedures and materials we use for the flooring these accent wall will remain for generations to come. The lack of foot traffic, general wear and tear, will only help to keep them in great condition for generations to come; really the most durable wall covering ever conceived.
When you think you don’t have a way to add drama to your home, let’s talk because Joe’s passion is providing our clients with art they can appreciate…and even walk across. We specify hardwood flooring and stair projects that give the rest of your home an incredibly custom look. These Parker area homeowners hired us to change out their carpeted stairs to hardwood stairs. Furthermore, we asked them if we could add antiqued wood to their wall. By varying color, texture, and dimensions we were able to create a barn wood effect; a kind of reclaimed antiqueing. Additionally, Joe built new custom newel post, squared off the stair edges, and oxidized the red oak materials he mounted on the wall to mimic the look and feel of reclaimed floors while customizing this transitional design.
While it might not work in just anyone’s home, these Denver-area homeowners also own a pallet company. They asked Joe to install a pallet wall, made from white oak, reclaimed pine, and heart pine to name a few, in their home for a bit of rustic appeal. This type of installation is eye-catching and demonstrates the unique style range wood materials allow. Bored with your floors, stairs, handrail, or walls?
